How to Choose the Right Wax for Your Skin Type

Oily or dry, every skin type can benefit from the unique properties of natural beeswax

When it comes to your skin, you only want to treat it with the kindest, most natural ingredients. And the truth is, there are endless products that promise near perfect results with no harm to your skin. When you search for hard wax, you get 227,000,000 options in Google—literally. So how do you sort through the choices and find the best wax option for you?

For normal to oily skin

Oily skin produces excess sebum, which can affect the waxing process. A good solution for oily prone skin types is to apply a small amount of baby powder to absorb the excess oil. This allows for the wax to properly adhere to the hair and effectively remove it. When searching for all-natural ingredient hard waxes, look for antiseptic ingredients like tea tree oil. Not only does it help combat oily skin, it also reduces inflammation and prevents breakouts while tightening pores.

For normal to dry skin

Dry skin, on the other hand, produces less sebum and may experience dehydration during waxing due to the exfoliating nature of the process. To combat this, opt for a wax with soothing ingredients like orange essential oil to fight irritation. Consider also using a natural moisturizer post wax to promote hydration.
